Dear Quirky
If I’m going to paint a room, should I remove all the furniture from the room first?
Signed,
Painting Newbie
….
Dear Painting Newbie,
As you’ve surely realized by now after painting two rooms today, the answer is, for god’s sakes, YES, spend that extra 10 minutes getting all the furniture out BEFORE you start, it will make your life a hell of a lot of easier.
Another tip for the novice is to have more than 3-4 square feet of newspaper available to lay on the floor. You will find that this pathetic amount of newspaper won’t work well at all, and you’ll end up getting paint on the carpet.
Last but not least, in your haste to rush through all your home improvement and cleaning projects before selling a house to an unsuspecting buyer, whatever you do, do not flea bomb before painting. It makes for a really strange combination of chemicals in the air, combining paints and bug killer gunk all at once into some crazy, amorphous combination that could probably kill a large animal upon inhalation.
Once you have finished though, be sure to celebrate with a cool Miller Chill Chelada Style beer, complimented with a sarcastic blog post written in the 3rd person.

Is it just me or is Portland some kind of vegan paradise?
Let’s take a look, we got:
Food Fight – a vegan grocery store!
Vegan Body Building – something like 50 Portland vegans are active with this bodybuilding group, including the founder, my hero, Robert Cheeke.
A Vegan Strip Club – WTF, right? I heard it went out of business anyway.
A Vegan Tattoo Shop! – yes! and if you’re wondering what that means, it means the inks do not contain animal products. weird eh? (How funny is it to think of all the many vegan tattoos made from ink with animal ingredients. Jokes on you sucker straightedger!)
And all sorts of interesting characters looking for roommates or someone to start a raw vegan commune with when you search for ‘vegan’ in the roommates section on Craiglist for Portland Sorry Seattle (aka Lauren), Portland has you beat x10 on this one.
Yeah, the fantasies of selling my condo, quitting my corporate job, and moving to Portland where I can resume the life of a poor but happy and hardly working freegan are kicking back up again!

Now that I have your attention via that myspace bulletin, you really should come out to this show tomorrow on Tuesday, July 29th at Local 506, to see Sunfold and Lonnie Walker.
Sunfold

Hooligans or nice young musicians?
Lonnie Walker

Naked redneck with a guitar or just Brian at a photo shoot?
Hmmm…..
Current going-ons in the Quirk Universe:
- Currently on a determined job hunt. Yeah! Current job is driving me insane, and by that, I mean it’s just a terrible weight on my chest, consuming my entire soul into the depths of depression.
- The condo is going on the market August 1st for 110k. No more delays! I can’t wait to sell it.
- Current fantasy is to either stay in high paid IT world and save muchos dollares for the next 1-5 years OR get a PT job, scrape by, and focus my efforts & intention on various website projects, since this is what makes me the happiest.
- In a month I will be in Seattle for a two week trip. Yes!
