This video gets me pumped!

Interesting to see someone guest on O’Reilly’s show who is far more confident than many guests and even more confident than Bill O’Reilly himself. It’s lame how he baits him with all these stupid questions, like encouraging kids to have sex. WTF, c’mon…

I think this is from…2006.

Fast forward to 4:51-6:00, starting when Bill says “You can take some of your lyrics…”. Manson elegantly answers the question and it’s as if the interviewee suddenly became deaf at the implication of his answer, which turned the question right back on him.

The sum of my emotions right now can be expressed with the following, largely unknown, quote from historian and social critic Oscar Wilde, who was far ahead of his time in 1891 when he stated:

STFU Bill O’Reilly.

My sentiments exactly.

PS And on a wholly unrelated note, is it just me or is one of them wearing one of those hair transplants? I’ll leave it up to you to tell me which one you think it is.

Quick version:
For people who got this error when logging into wordpress from the wp-admin page:

Error 404 – Not Found

Here’s how I fixed it:

I went into my domains control panel and I did an upgrade of WordPress to 2.8.5. I didn’t note what version I was at, but I bet I hadn’t upgraded it in over a year. I think it was either 2.5.x or 2.7.x.

After the upgrade, I could log in without any problem and everything works fine.

Long Version:
So I hadn’t logged into this blog in a really long time (about 6 months) and I just tried to do so about 30 minutes ago and got an error. Whenever I tried going into the /wp-admin page, I got a

Error 404 – Not Found

I then tried to be fancy and use a different page like:
/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http://quirkuniverse.com/wp-admin/

Didn’t work either.

But then I noticed that when viewing posts, it said I was logged in and there was even an ‘edit’ button.

“Ah-ha! This will work!”

Alas, it did not. I still got the 404 error.

Then I decided maybe I should just upgrade. I figured, worst case scenario, here’s a blog that no one reads. In its entire history, perhaps 5 people on the planet have accidentally stumbled upon via an ill fated google search and  perhaps at my insistence to “look at this video on my blog dude”. If the upgrade really screwed things up, I’d just uninstall WordPress and everything and start from scratch.

But holy hell, much to my amazement, I upgraded it from my hosts control panel and it worked, and now I can log in.

Amazing when a simple fix works.

This is one of my favorite scenes of Lynch’s masterpiece, Mulholland Drive. In the larger context of this movie, this scene to me represents the dream-like nature of the film.

In this scene, the characters experience is raw and dramatic and disturbingly strange, yet no one seems to notice, including the characters who are “dreaming” it. Everything seems to take on extreme importance but the understanding of why it was so important simply slips away as soon as its done, (i.e. once you get to the next scene) much like waiting up from an intense dream with a charged up feeling that it was entirely deep and real, but you can’t put your finger on any of the specifics.

This is great…. one of my favorite Sunfold songs and a nice video to boot. Check it. Can’t wait to see them play this weekend at Artsplosure with rising stars Lonnie Walker.

Avatar - Fan Poster Art

The internet is a buzz about a new film coming out in December 2009 by James Cameron. Evidently, the hype surrounds the fact that this film is in 3D, but not the 3D we’re used to – it’s a new technique and peoples description of the experience is riveting.

For instance, Cameron stated that watching the movie is like…

“dreaming with your eyes wide open.”

A reporter wrote after viewing (or experiencing?) one short scene, that…

“It was like doing some kind of drug.”

The story is about an Avatar, described as a person living in a robotic body, who finds himself on an alien planet.

People are so crazy excited about it already that they’re setting up fan websites, such as Avatar Movie Zone. Fans are even producing striking fan poster art, such as the image on the left by Ludo38 @ Deviant Art.

This video pretty much makes me want to marry Natalie Portman.
